Tales of trees and tadpoles

Ok New post! Well yesterday I got to play with the chainsaw!! First time I ever used a chainsaw. I cut down most of the tree and hauled it to the pick up spot my mom helped. Then I hooked the hose up to the pool to drain IT AND WHEN I GOT IN TO UNPLUG IT there were lots and lots of tadpoles. I got a big 5 gallon bucket and put old swimming pool water in it and netted out hundreds of tadpoles. The girls came home yesterday and celebrated when they saw the tadpoles. This morning before school Kim had a Big pickle jar, Natalie had a quart size jar, and Rachel had a pint jar and they were full of swimming pool water and tadpoles. it was precious seeing my Kindergartner, 2nd grader and 6th grader proudly walking into school with their tadpoles or "guppies" as Natalie and Rachel call them. Anyways it was too adorably cute.
I had a birthday a few weeks ago and I got an awesome new camera so I will be making and posting some pictures to share on here.

HAHAHA!!!

It is I, The HUSBAND!!! My wife did not sign out while using the computer. I decided that it was time to put a new post on MY site, and when I logged in, low and behold, I see that I am now typing in Her SPOT!!! Hehehe! What should I say??? Good question.

My wife is not the concert going type. I don't think it's important to her. I never got to go as a kid to any concerts. I did see Richard Marx at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City one summer. That doesn't count. First REAL concert was just last year. I got to see the FANTASTIC GARTH BROOKS put on a near two and a half hour show! Only thing was that I went on my own. My wife was not able to go with me. Second of all, it was in Kansas City. He was only doing the concert there. Ended up doing 9 shows in nine nights. Tee shirts said, "the cat in the hat, has nine lives, in Kansas City!" If you ever see the Garth Brooks, One City, One Night concert on GAC, I was actually there!!! Way up top! If you want to see some pics, go to my page and I will post them!!! It was a great time though.

Well, I bring this up, because I am going to be going to see COLDPLAY in Houston, Texas in November!!! I really am excited about it. But I know that I will be even more so, when the time gets closer. But I am bringing Dawn with me this time. The Garth concert was fun, but I was all alone. I didn't have anyone with me to enjoy it. Dawn Loves Garth, and she likes Coldplay. So I am hoping that she will have a good time. I know I will. It'll be cool to actually know what they are singing. Garth, I knew some of it, but not all. The girl next to me at one point yelled "you're supposed to sing along!!!" I just shrugged my shoulders and smiled.

Well, that's enough of my time here! Check out my awesome BLOG at: http://cartoontesams.blogspot.com
to get the awesomeness to soak into your soul!!! Peace out Homies!!!

Band-Aids

I have often bought band-aids thinking, "These will last a while so I don't mind the price." I buy a small box of 35 for around $1.35. I bring them home and never see the box again. But I do see the contents of the box every once in a while. To a child a band-aid is a fascinating thing. They learn that when you prick yourself you can put a little band-aid on it to make it not bleed. They also learn that when they have a blister they can put the band-aid on it to protect it. So they have figured out that band-aids are comfort measures when they are hurt. A few weeks ago I was cleaning my daughters room. I noticed the humongous amount of stuffed animals or "snuggle buddies" as we call them piled up on the floor where I could not help but step all over them. Thinking, as moms often do, "ah ha I will use some silly psychology to get them to keep their toys off the floor." (We try everything) I acted like their snuggle buddies were hurt by being on the floor and stepped on by people. They had sound effects I created, "Bwhaaaa, and Boo Hoo, and Whaaa, and NOOO" But it was a little fun humor and the girls picked them up. I bought some more band-aids shortly after that usually because they disappear and I never know where they are. Now almost every day I see snuggle buddies covered in band-aids. They are still on the floor, oh yes, but their "discomfort" is now remedied with a small piece of gauze and plastic. :)

What is your opinion?

Ok, I have a conundrum. What is the proper way to handle you pre-teen child's friends? I have my own opinions about this topic but I really would like some feed back good and bad about your life experiences, either your first hand ones as a pre-teen or as a parent of a pre-teen. If the friend's manners are lacking and you are hurt by the lack of kindness, what do you do? If the friend is a bad influence (behavior wise) what do you do? Just wanted to have your perspectives on this. Thank You. Dawn

Ok It's official...

I remember when I was a young child I enjoyed my toys and barbies and little things like styrofoam cups for furniture and old socks for clothes but my 4 yr old takes the cake... I made their bed earlier today and they napped in mine and I was cleaning my floor and Rachel my 4 yr old was helping me so I asked her to throw away an old popsicle wrapper on the floor and wipe up the cocoa buter lotion that she had put on the floor. She wiped up the lotion with toilet paper
and promptly lef the room. Well to make a long story short when I was tucking her in to sleep tonight I rearranged her pillows. Underneath her pillow is where she hides her treasures, I reached underneath her pillows and there was a large pile of food wrappers along with the used toilet paper, ramen wrappers and popsicle wrapper etc.. etc.. even movie ticket stubs. I said oh I need to throw these away, she promptly threw her head back and pitched a fit for her trash. She really wanted her trash, so finally I got her calmed down enough to ask her why she wanted it she said simply, "I love it mommy." I realized, it official, children don't need bought toys to play with they can simply pretend trash is fun.

Ok I hope this one is better... Lazy Day?

I woke up bright and early at 6:25am a little late due to staying up till 12:30am but not bad. then I rush my kids into dressing, brushing teeth and hair, eating, locating school stuff and hurrying out the door with not a moment to spare. I have to lecture my 11 yr old quite often that she can only wear her favorite uniform pants so many days in a row before they need to be washed. ewwww oh I made smoothies for my kids for breakfast and then I brought my children to school. Well I did some laundry today and I made my bed... and played Wii with my 4 yr old. I Unloaded and loaded the dishwasher. Then I played on the computer. Then I made eggs and bacon for my husband who went to work. I ate some too they were good. Then I played a computer game for a little bit and did a secret shoppper thing and then I picked up my 7 yr old from school because she had a fever of 101.3. They informed me she could not come to school tomorrow to which my reply was fine but in order to be excused they require me to get a doctor's excuse. It's hard to afford to take my child to the doctor everytime they are sick and miss school for a virus. the doctor does nothing for that anyway. so I gave them my 2 cents and then came home gave Natalie Motrin. Oh yes on my way home I stopped by Sonic and bought Natalie, Rachel and I slushies since my gut instinct is that she a little dehydrated. We came home and put Natalie to bed. Rachel watched PBS for 30 minutes then we left to pick-up Kimberly. It is very hot here so the wait in the car was stifling. We stopped to get gas 3.86 a gallon I only had a 20 dollar bill on me so i paid the attendant and put a little over 5 gallons in my very empty mini-van. Don't get me started on Gas prices :(. I'm saving that for another blog. Well I came home and looked at some emails and told Kimberly to take a shower for activity day girls, then I sat and read a few chapters in a book, then I began to cook dinner and noticed Kimberly had not taken her shower yet so I searched all over the house for Kimberly and she was outside in the backyard petting the stray cat she has taken in, out in the yard swing. welll I orry about ringworms and fungus so i told her to please go take a shower or she would not be going to activity days. Then I came and emailed my brother Jonathan, he's on his mission, then I finished Dinner, called mom and shannan at the pet shop and then decided to write in my blog. I don't have much else to do today except a few loads of dishes and a couple loads of laundry if I remember. HAA HAAA. Out of site out of mind sometimes. But basically it's tuck in around 8:30pm and then sick duty all night for me. It's just a typical lazy day for the stay at home mom. :))

Straight A's

Well I did it again I academically got straight A's. I am pleased with that but while I was getting straight A's I was a hassle around here. One day I hope it will all be worth it especially to my kiddos.

New Blog Hooray

Hi World!
Ok this is my first Blog ever. I am not an exhibitionist so you will not see many personal photos of myself, but you will see many thoughts on lots of things, due to my very opinionated personality. You see, I am a mom of 3 girls who are still in their formative years, so as a result I must have clear opinions and thoughts on the things out there in the world. I like purple!! You might see alot of it on this page. Eventually it will be spectacular!!! so watch out WWW here I come!!
