The things that ought to be sold in stores!

I walk around the store and sometimes wonder...who is choosing the products that stores display on their shelves for me to buy? I know the person who chooses junior clothing is not a person who is a parent. I know the person involved in purchasing women's plus sizes is not plus size (I mean come on they think I want a 20" long tent with hideous large floral print just because I am a plus size), and I know the person choosing normal everyday household items is not a housekeeper. So the issue is this. I walk the isles of my local Wal-Mart and I wonder why the powers that be thinks that I want to purchase the same cheesy pictures on small squares of paper with a horrible lollipop attached for my children's school valentines. This year I want something better!!! This year I really think I will make a "useful" valentine for my children's classmates. But I am not sure where to start. The school does not allow homemade food items and I would love a healthy alternative to candy and sweets, but not too expensive...hmm let's see... This truly is a dilemma. I think I will have to dust off my sweing machine and make some cute bags where my children can place a small "useful" item in each one. I will go check out the store and see what ideas the terriblly uncreative corporate purchasers think are useful.
